Mysteries of the Rosary

TWENTY MYSTERIES · ONE JOURNEY WITH CHRIST

A life of love. A prayer for every day.

The Rosary invites you to contemplate the life of Jesus through the eyes of Mary. Across four sets of five mysteries, we reflect on His birth, ministry, suffering, and Resurrection—and bring our own lives into prayer.

New to the Rosary? Begin with one mystery. Announce the event, reflect on its meaning, and pray a decade: one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and one Glory Be.

Choose a mystery. Make time for prayer.

Follow the customary weekly schedule below, or choose a set for your prayer and reflection. Each card links to all five individual mysteries.

Luminous Mysteries — scenes for Rosary meditation

Luminous Mysteries

Enter the public ministry of Jesus. Contemplate the signs and teachings that reveal Him as the light of the world.

  1. The Baptism of Jesus
  2. The Wedding at Cana
  3. The Proclamation of the Kingdom
  4. The Transfiguration
  5. The Institution of the Eucharist

Let each mystery become a moment of prayer.

You do not need to picture every detail or find the perfect words. Begin quietly, and return to the mystery whenever your attention wanders.

01 · Pause

Name the mystery and read a short Scripture passage or reflection. Notice what it reveals about Jesus and Mary.

02 · Contemplate

Hold the scene in your heart while praying the decade. Ask for a grace such as trust, patience, courage, or hope.

03 · Carry it with you

Choose one small response for today: forgive someone, care for a neighbor, or entrust a worry to God.

Bring what is on your heart.

In the Joyful Mysteries, pray for your family and the grace to welcome God’s will. In the Sorrowful Mysteries, bring your suffering and the needs of those who are hurting. In the Glorious Mysteries, ask for renewed hope. In the Luminous Mysteries, seek light for the choices ahead.

You can also pray with a particular intention: peace in anxiety, healing, or your family.
